Six Heathy 30 Minute Meals

CANrecipe Jan 2017

Since starting Whole30, there hasn’t been to much time available to trying out new recipes. I do have a couple of Whole30 inspired recipes in the pipeline! But they haven’t been thoroughly tested, so you have to be patient for those. And I have some food allergy lifestyle blogs coming your way once all this healthy eating business is over 😀  Continue reading

Whole30 Day 21: Eat more fish

Whole30 Meal Plan Day 21

Whole30 Meal Plan Day 21: lunch - warm tomato and sardine salad

Today was the first day of Whole30 we didn’t eat any meat: we ate eggs and fish. Not eating any meat hit a reset button in the reset! We felt energized and excited about eating because the meals were refreshing and light. I would suggest, if you can (will be hard if you have an allergy to eggs or fish), to go one day without meat.  Continue reading

Whole30 Day 18: Let’s talk alcohol

Whole30 Meal Plan: Day 18

Whole30 Meal Plan Day 18: lunch

My relationship with alcohol has been a slightly troubling discovery during Whole30. So you have a better understanding of how much I drink… I probably drink about three nights a week, and that would be 1-3 glasses of wine or beer. I don’t like hard alcohol. Continue reading

Whole30 Day 17: What about fruit?

Whole30 Meal Plan: Day 17

Whole30 Meal Plan Day 17: breakfast
When I tell people that part of Whole30 is cutting out all sugars, the most common question I get is whether this includes fruit. And the answer is: you can eat fruit! But it comes with a set of recommendations. Fruit can be approached from the sex with your pants on angle. Are you eating fruit as a snack to replace something you crave? Are you replacing your afternoon coffee and cake with an apple? Are you indulging in dessert in the form of fruit? Continue reading

Whole30 Day 16: SWYPO

Whole30 Meal Plan: Day 16

Whole30 Meal Plan Day 16: lunch ginger meatball soup

SWYPO means ‘sex with your pants on.’ It’s one of those Whole30 sayings like sugar dragon and tiger blood. SWYPO is when you try to recreate food that is unhealthy or decadent or something you are jonesing for with Whole30 ingredients. The main examples they give are pancakes or pizza. In a nutshell, foods you love that come with an emotional or addictive side. Continue reading

We made it to the halfway point! As a way to celebrate, here are a 7 observations from the last 15 days.

1 • My stomach is still not happy- it’s just confused. With the drastic changes and lack of probiotics I’m not surprised.  Continue reading

Whole30 Day 14: You’re not hungry!

Whole30 Meal Plan: Day 14 – cleaning out the fridge

Whole30 Meal Plan Day 14

Two weeks down! And guess what I learned… no surprise but I am an emotional eater. Last night I knocked over a bunch of bottles that sit above our stove. One came crashing down onto the stove top and cracked the glass. OMG! 😱😭 After cleaning up all the tiny glass shards (why wasn’t this glass tempered?) I went to grab a handful of coconut flakes… wait, wait, wait! You’re not hungry! Guys, I was drowning my sorrow in food.  Continue reading

Over the last 13 days, I haven’t just committed to Whole30; I also decided to take a picture of each meal and blog about it. What was I thinking! We are eating a lot of warm meals because of this 😛 I thought I’d share what I’ve learned from 13 days fo straight blogging. Continue reading
